Dr. Mari Asper is double board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, with over a decade of experience at Tricounty Behavioral Health in North Charleston, SC. She earned her medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed her General Psychiatry Residency followed by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where she served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Asper provides expert psychiatric care and mental health services to patients of all ages, creating individualized treatment plans tailored to each person's unique needs. Since, 2019, she has specialized in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS Therapy), a non-invasive, FDA-approved, drug-free treatment for treatment-resistant depression. Dr. Asper also offers medication management for a broad range of conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and ADHD. Dr. Asper is also a consultant for Purpose SC Group Home and volunteers at Harvest Free Medical Clinic, underscoring her commitment to accessible healthcare in the North Charleston community.
Her dedication to excellence in patient care was recognized when she was chosen as a finalist in the 2021 Post & Courier Best of Charleston for Psychiatrist/Therapist.
In her free time, Dr. Asper enjoys traveling, pickleball, and volleyball.
